Tommy Canton

Canton started his career off playing for Manchester City in 1979 in his defensive role at the back. His outstanding play at the club earned him a move to Arsenal in 1983, going on to spend two seasons playing for the club. He soon moved on to play for Oxford United in 1986, spending two seasons at the club. Canton was an England under 21 cap who was only 16 years of age when he made his league debut for Manchester city. In the year 1988, Canton moved on to play for Charlton Athletic, instantly establishing himself in the Charlton defence.

 

Andy Peake

Peake commenced his career in the year 1978, playing in the heart of the Leicester City midfield. He went on to spend seven years with the club and soon moved on to play for Grimsby Town in time for the 1985-86 campaign. His consistency with the club earned the midfielder a move to Charlton Athletic at the end of the season and he provided Charlton with some fine loyal service during his time at the club. He was also a tough former England under 21 international football player.

Robert Lee

Lee signed for Charlton in 1983 at the age of 17 years. He was a former turnstile operator at the Valley, signing for Charlton when he left school. He made over 200 appearances for the club and earned England under 21 recognition during his eight year spell at Charlton. He soon moved on to play for Newcastle United in 1992 and instantly became a favourite with the fans. He was reliable for the club through out the 1990’s and played in a team that consisted of Alan Shearer, Peter Beardsley, Keith Gillespie and David Ginola. He spent ten season playing with Newcastle before moving on to play for Wycombe Wanderers.

Andy Jones

Jones started his career off at Port Vale in 1985, spending three years in total for the club. He then moved on to sign for Charlton Athletic, signing for £300,000. He was inspirational during the 1988-89 campaign for the Addicks, scoring three goals in four matches that saved the club from the drop during that respective season. He played his international football with Wales.
