Mike Flanagan

Mike Flanagan played over 250 games for Charlton between 1971 and 1979. His finest season in front of goal was the 1976-77 season, when he scored 23 league goals, a prolific rate in front of goal, making him the divisions leading goal scorer. Anxious for First division football, he moved to Crystal Palace in 1979. The £650,000 Palace paid for him was Charlton’s record fee received for over 10 years until Paul Williams left Charlton Athletic.
