Frank Hill
Hill had a great playing career starring for an array of clubs, including, Forfar, Arsenal, Blackpool and Crewe.
He began his managerial carer as player manager of Crewe Alexandra, before taking up the managerial post at Burnley in 1948. He spent six years as manager of Burnley F.C before moving on to take charge at Preston north End for two seasons until 195. He was installed as the new manager of Charlton athletic in 1959 and enjoyed a great spell at the club. He helped the club avoid relegation when he came in, during 1961 and guided the club to forth position by the end of the 1963-64 campaign, narrowly missing out on promotion back to the top flight. He left the job in the summer of 1965 and went on to be a scout at Manchester City.

Ken Craggs
Craggs commenced his coaching career with Brighton and Hove Albion as assistant manager to Alan Mullery at the club. Helping the outfit climb from the third to first division. Craggs took over the post as Charlton manager when Mullery left in 1982 and he signed Danish football star, Allan Simonsen during his time at the club. He remained manager of the club for one year and later on became a scout for Man City and Huddersfield Town.

Jimmy Seed
After spending his playing career with Spurs and Sheffield Wednesday, Seed was installed as the manager of Charlton Athletic in 1933 and went on to serve the club in charge for 23 years. He brought the addicks up from the Southern Division three to the top flight in tow years and established Charlton as a formidable first division outfit. He enjoyed a fine campaign in charge during the 1936-37 season as he led his side to second position in the first tier of English football. He guided the club to the 1946 FA Cup final as they lost it against Derby County and the following year he took the Addicks once again to the final, this time disposing Burnley 1-0. After a 23 year spell in charge at the club he moved on to take charge at Millwall.

Lennie Lawrence
Lawrence started his managerial career at Charlton Athletic in 1982 and he did a lot in keeping the club stable and consistent during his time at the club. His finest campaign had to be regarded as the 1985-86 season as he helped the addicks gain promotion to the top flight as they reached second place of the second division. He managed Charlton during their time in the top flight, helping the club battle against relegation, however he left towards the end of the 90-91 season, handing the job to Alan Curbishley and Steve Gritt.

Alan Curbishley
Curbishley without doubt knows the game inside and out. He spent 15 years in charge at Charlton between 1991 and 2006 and helped the club establish themselves as a premiership club. He spent four years in charge with the club with Steve Gritt before taking full control of the managerial post in 1995. He helped Charlton to promotion to the premier league and his great leadership at the club put him in the frame as a candidate for the England job before Steve McClaren took charge. He managed the football club for a staggering 729 matches.

 

Walter Rayner
Rayner is well known as the first ever manager to manage Charlton Athletic when they became a professional football team. He spent five years in charge at the club between 1920 and 1925, while the Addicks were in the Southern division three. His finest achievement was helping Charlton reach the quarter finals of the 1922 FA Cup. He was in charge during a period that saw low crowds and financial difficulties at the club.
