Derby County 4-1 Charlton Athletic
Date Played – May 1946 (FA Cup Final)
This was the first football season after the Second World War and Charlton were looking to establish themselves as a force in English football. The addicks met Derby in the 1946 final and it was an encounter that Bert Turner scored at both ends within a minute. A shot by Derby County’s Duncan hit Turner’s leg and went in for an own goal with five minutes of normal time remaining. Turner then equalized to force the match in to extra time. Derby ran out of the match as 4-1 winners after extra time being played.

Charlton Athletic 1-0 Burnley

The addicks had endured a painful league campaign as they only managed to finish off in a disappointing 19th place, fortunate to narrowly escape relegation. After suffering a 4-1 defeat against Derby County in the FA Cup final the previous years, the addicks met Burnley in the 1947 final at Wembley and were emphatic on the day. They finished off what proved to be a fine FA Cup campaign by defeating Burnley 1-0 to win the elusive FA Cup trophy.

Wolves 0-4 Charlton Athletic
Date Played – Saturday 23rd August 2003
After suffering a 3-0 defeat against Manchester City on the opening day of the season, nobody expected this incredible away win over Charlton, one of their biggest away victories in their premiership history. Charlton dominated the vast majority of the first half and took the lead through Jason Euell. The addicks continued to dominate and went two in front as Claus Jensen scored. By the time of the 33rd minute of the first half a rout looked guaranteed as Shaun Bartlett netted in two goals to make it 4-0. Scott Parker was outstanding throughout the match for Charlton and came close to scoring in the second half. Despite Kevin Cooper being sent off with 20 minutes remaining for Charlton they still won 4-0.

Middlesbrough 0-3 Charlton Athletic
Date Played – 28th August 2005
Charlton went top of the table after this thrilling premiership encounter that saw the addicks crush Boro away from home 3-0. Darren Bent came close very early on and searched for the lead. The addicks finally went in front with 10 minutes of the first half remaining as Dennis Rommedahl put Charlton one goal to the good. Charlton came out the brighter side in the second half and with ten minutes of the match remaining, Danny Murphy took an accurate free kick that was met by Chris Perry who made the score line 2-0. After an exodus of Boro fans leaving the stadium, Darren bent raced in to the box to score Charlton’s third goal of the match and seal a fine 3-0 victory for the visitors.
