Charlton Athletic addicks

After spending his playing career with Spurs and Sheffield Wednesday, Seed was installed as the manager of Charlton Athletic in 1933 and went on to serve the club in charge for 23 years. He brought the addicks up from the Southern Division three to the top flight in tow years and established Charlton as a formidable first division outfit. He enjoyed a fine campaign in charge during the 1936-37 season as he led his side to second position in the first tier of English football. He guided the club to the 1946 FA Cup final as they lost it against Derby County and the following year he took the Addicks once again to the final, this time disposing Burnley 1-0. After a 23 year spell in charge at the club he moved on to take charge at Millwall.
